travel north america united states california avila beach around

The general appearance of Avila Beach has changed quite a bit from when I was at Cal Poly and when I lived there.
It used to feel like a small beach and port town with a few diners and shops that catered to locals and Cal Poly students.
Since then, the waterfront has spruced up with colorful buildings and beautifully landscaped shopping malls.
It's still a small beachfront town with a beautiful setting, and worth a visit.
